Teachers Put on Festive Show
By:Becca Dudley and Kishon Ho Chee
It has been a tradition that the William Chrisman staff reward their students with an entertaining and quite funny Christmas play every four years.
The festive show is full of dances, silly costumes, and loads of laughter from the students.
“It’s always fun to do crazy things for our students. Especially after a semester of hard work, it’s a great gift to them from us.” says math teacher Jodi Donald
The teachers have been putting on this fun-filled show for about 40 years now and have kept it going since the beginning.
Some of our own staff who participated in this past show, were once a student here at William Chrisman, sitting in the crowd watching their own teachers.
“The show has been going on since I went to Chrisman and it’s even better being part of it and seeing the student’s reactions.” says Leah Prutsman “The show is always fun and probably my favorite part is sitting behind the scenes and still watching teachers let their hair down.”
“It was even more fun back then in a way, mainly because then the teachers were really composed and formally dressed in their presentation to their students. So seeing them let loose and put on a show was great.” said Janette Wickman
The students always get a kick out of it as well and enjoy it just as much today as they did back then.
“It was definitely something I’ll remember out of my four years here at Chrisman. It was funny to see teacher’s that you wouldn’t expect to participate really let loose. The show was really enjoyable and I got to see my teachers in a different light, and not just as my big scary teachers.” said Olivia Jaynes
This is a long Chrisman tradition that will hopefully continue long after now.
“The tradition was passed down to me to direct and hopefully I can pass it down to someone else to keep the tradition going for the kids. That’s really the motivation for all of us staff to keep it going.”
