Chrisman Golf Takes Second at Conference Tournament
The William Chrisman golf team continued its improvement and historic performances on Monday at Paradise Pointe golf course as the Bears took second for the first time in the Suburban White Conference Tournament.
“Took second for the first time in school history,” said coach John Beaman. “We had four medalist this year, the most we’ve had before is two!”
Junior Eli Martin and senior Ethan Freiley finished seventh and 10th, respectively, to earn Second Team All-Conference honors. Earning Honorable Mention All-Conference honors were freshman Alec McFarland (11th) and senior Seth Curtis (12th).
“It was hard, but very good because we worked to take second place,” McFarland said.
Freiley said, “It was tough, but fun.”
This has been a big year for the Bears, as they earlier broke the nine hole team match school record with a 185.
Now, Chrisman focuses on Districts and potentially taking the next step as well.
“If I get my short game down, I have a good chance of going to state,” Martin said.
