Baseball Set to Begin New Era
Story By: Cameron Watters and Grady Ogle
Baseball season is now under way, with tryouts wrapping up the roster is set and ready to go.
Another key aspect of the game now begins as the bears compete for their positions, and begin to fill out the varsity, JV and C team rosters.
“It’s different this year, it seems like nearly every position has some sort of competition this year and I think that's a good sign already,” said junior Josh Jarvis.
This competition was apparent throughout the week of tryouts. With new coaches came a new system of evaluation.
“I feel like tryouts were a lot more organized, and it really felt like we were actually being evaluated this year,” said junior Will Fisher. “It's definitely a good sign that these coaches are putting this much effort into just evaluating us at tryouts.”
With the season rolling around many of the players are excited for the season to get under way.
“I’m glad it's finally here and I’m ready for whatever the season holds for my teammates and I,” said freshman Jordan Mabie.
As the Bears officially begin practice, they begin preparation for their upcoming jamboree at Liberty High School.
