The William Chrisman girls and boys track and field teams didn’t let cold and wet weather get in the way of top finishes and PRs on Wednesday at the 9th/10th grade Blue Springs Invitational. Two Bears won their events and many more finished in the top 8. Sophomore Joseph Greyeyes won the 300m hurdles with a PR, also taking sixth in the pole vault with a PR, and Morgan Bauman also posted a PR on her way to winning the girls’ pole vault. Sophomore Gabi Chavez was third in the 300m hurdles and sophomore Richard Slaughter was fourth in the high jump. Slaughter broke his PR by six inches on the way to the strong finish. The boys’ 4x400m relay was also fourth. The girls’ 4x400m relay took fifth thanks to a strong anchor leg by freshman Jolee Spinks, who also finished fifth in the high jump and triple jump, and sixth in the long jump. Other top eight finishes went to Alex Atagi (Shot Put - 6th), Mason Walters (Javelin - 7th, Pole Vault - 7th), Aniyeja Weathers (100m - 7th), Jamie Atkison (200m - 7th), and Garrett Downey (300m Hurdles - 7th, 110m Hurdles - 8th).
