Bears Bring Home Numerous All-Conference Honors

As a historic season comes to an end for the William Chrisman football team, the players and coaches are seeing their hard work pay off with numerous honors and accolades.
“When you win, you get recognized, it’s as simple as that, and this year we won and we’re getting the recognition we deserve,” said senior quarterback James Bailey
The Bears were heavily recognized with the release of the Suburban Middle All-Conference honors this week.
And, Bailey certainly got the recognition he deserved as he was named First Team All-Conference and received the Conference Offensive Player of the Year award. But, Bailey’s recognition isn’t finished quite yet as he was named a semifinalist for the prestigious Simone award, given to the metro’s top player.
“It’s a blessing to receive all of these awards but I couldn't have done it without my teammates and coaches,” said Bailey.
Joining Bailey on the First Team offense were senior wide receiver Josh Horn and senior right tackle Cameron Watters, while several others earned Second Team and Honorable Mention awards as well.
On the defensive side, junior Daniel Carson headlined the post season awards for Chrisman as he earned First Team honors and was named a semifinalist for the metro’s Buck Buchanan award.
“Its an honor to receive all of these awards, my hard work has really payed off this season and the cool thing is that I still have another year of playing high school football,” said Carson
And Carson’s not the only underclassmen who earned first team honors as Junior Emori Thomas and sophomore Kelvyn Mason earned First Team honors as well.
Concluding the list for William Chrisman was head coach Scorpio Horn, who received the conference Coach of the Year award.
“My players earned this award for me, you can come up with as many different game plans, and strategies as you want, but if the players can’t execute any of it, then you're not successful as a coach,” said Horn.
