Chrisman Choir Students Excel in District Vocal Music Contest

William Chrisman Choir students had a strong showing on Friday at the Solo and Small Ensemble Vocal Music District Contest, with several earning (I) Exemplary ratings and qualifying for the State Solo and Small Ensemble contest in Columbia.
Individually, Chrisman’s overall solo results from the District event included five (I) Exemplary ratings, eight (II) Outstanding ratings, and three (III) Satisfactory ratings.
In small ensembles, Chrisman vocal students produced three (I) Exemplary ratings, one (II) Outstanding ratings, and two (III) Satisfactory ratings.
Soloists earning (I) Exemplary ratings and advancing to State contest were sophomroe Jose Mendoza, junior Stefanie Gross, senior Yasmine Hora, junior Darryl Shaw, junior Kishon Ho Chee, and senior Anna O’Renick.
Ensembles eaning (I) Exemplary ratings were:
Soloists earning (II) Outstanding ratings were Connor Toolooze, Robert Pontalion, Kaitlyn Rodriguez, Savanah Malam, Jessica Johnson, Kieran Beeby, Courtney Calhoun, and Michaela Ebert.
The sextet of Leah Savona, Makenzy Magel, Isabelle Jaynes, Morgan Nash, Maliah Crooks, and Abigail Chavirra also received a (II) Outstanding rating.
Several Bears also earned (III) Satisfactory ratings, including Steven Clark Kaitlyn Waage, and Morgan Lamar.
The sextet of Jennifer Soendker, Valarey Hodges, Jayla Burton, Kaylexis Harris, Ricki Brown and Ma’Kaila Murphy earned a (III) Satisfactory rating, as did the voal ensemble of Angel Edwards, McKenna Downey, Karley Cummings, Danielle Wood, Jessica Johnson, Micah Jenkins and Elsa Molin.
