Chrisman Track and Field Competes at Rusty Hodge Invitational
The William Chrisman track and field team took on some of the top competition in Missouri on Thursday at the prestigious Rusty Hodge Invitational at Blue Springs South.
Against a field full of past State and Sectional qualifiers, the Bears proved strong, netting three medals, 19 season bests, several PRs and even a school record.
Junior Camryn Holloman paced the girls’ team as she won the triple jump, took second in the long jump, and finished seventh with a season best in the 100m.
Senior Daniel Carson led the way for the boys, taking second in the shot put and fourth in the discus. Carson’s throw of 57’11” topped his PR (set last week) by more than a foot and passed the school record by more than half a foot.’
Other top eight finishers were freshman Jacque David (sixth in the Discus), freshman Wyatt Leutzinger (seventh in the Pole Vault), and sophomore Reana Lagrone (eighth in the Pole Vault).
Leutzinger, in his first year vaulting, topped his PR by a foot and a half with a leap of 12 feet.
The Bears are back in action on April 6 as they host the Summa Invitational at Chrisman.
