Students Share What They Wish They Had Been Told
Story By: Izzy Jaynes
As freshmen enter high school, they have no idea what the next four years will bring,
When reflecting on this, a lot of people often have things they wish they would have been told going into it.
For most, middle school still consists of fairly easy courses. Going from middle school to high school is a major adjustment that some find pretty tough.
“Freshman year is way different from 8th grade. You have to try harder to keep your grades up and to not get caught up in things that don’t matter,” said sophomore Rylee LaRoche, when thinking about what she wishes she had been told at the start of her freshman year.
Sophomore, Allison Cook, said that she wishes someone would have told her to “be confident and don’t be afraid to try new things. You’ll have more fun and not miss out on so much,”
There are so many new clubs and activities to try once you get into high school. Sometimes they may be out of your comfort zone, but that’s okay. Try something new, get involved.
Along with new experiences, you’ll also be surrounded by a lot of new people.
“Get a good group of friends that you can count on,” said senior, Olivia Jaynes. You spend four years of your life in high school, so you want to surround yourself with reliable people that will be there for you through it all.
Senior, Kishon HoChee, wishes someone would have told him, “Don’t procrastinate,” Whether that be with work you have to do, classes you have to take or activities you want to join. Getting all that stuff done when it’s supposed to be done can help you to get the most out of your high school experience.
In the blink of an eye, your senior year arrives and you find yourself getting ready for graduation. You can’t help but wonder where the time has gone and look back on the past 4 years.
That’s why senior, Cameron Watters wishes someone would have told him to, “live in every minute because time flies by so fast,”
