Chrisman Students Fare Well in Festival of Color
William Chrisman photography and art students had a strong showing at the annual Sermon Center Festival of Color on April 8.
Chase Hagarty took first place in experimental Photography for his piece "Hands of the Universe."
“I felt happy that I won something,” Hagarty said. “I won first place and received a check for $50.”
Taylor Brim took third place in Photography for "Leaves" and third place in experimental photography for "Zach City."
“Honestly I was shocked I never thought my pictures were good enough to win something on them,” Brim said.
Sydnee Quick received honorable mention in experimental photography for "Dots."
In art, Donovan Denham received third place in watercolor painting and Leslie Garcia was honorable mention in Tempera Painting.
This year, separate ribbon honors were given from the judges of Independence Art Association. Lindsey Fairall took second in experimental photography for "Mind Read" and second tempera/watercolor for "Duality."
“I submitted several pieces ... a watercolor piece and a photo collage made on photoshop. I got 2nd place on the moth piece done on photoshop and the sun and moon piece,” Fairall said.
Brim was third for experimental photography, also for "Zach City."
