The transition from middle school to high school can often be scary for most freshman. Many students are very nervous and have unreal expectations of what high school is like. However many freshman find out that high school is a very fun experience if you stay involved as a bear.
Some like the overall freedom that high school extends from middle school.
“My favorite part about high school is the student sections at football and basketball games,” says freshman Brea Daniels.
Those that are involved ultimately have a better and more successful high school experience according to studies.
However, it’s not just going to the games or joining a group. Some freshmen have had the opportunity to actually play and participate at a high level as well whether it be playing varsity sports or qualifying for State contest in music, for example.
“Playing with such strong competition and having a whole student body behind my back has been amazing and is so much better than any experience in middle school,” says freshman Kelvyn Mason.
This first year set the tone for the new freshman and gave them a taste of what it is like being a Bear.
“I can’t wait for the next three years,” says freshman Camryn Holloman.
