Chrisman Junior Becomes Second Bear to Advance to Speech and Debate Nationals
William Chrisman High School junior Nicolette Bowman earned a spot in the 2017 National Speech and Debate Tournament after a successful performance this past weekend at the Heart of America District qualification tournament.
Bowman proved to be one of the top in her category as she advanced to Nationals in Informative Speaking.
“I am proud of my hard work,” Bowman said. “This gives me a new experience and will push me to work even harder in the future.
Bowman is the second Chrisman student to advance to Nationals in Birmingham, Alabama from June 18-23. Senior Lacey Harris advanced in Lincoln-Douglas debate previously at an earlier District competition.
