Skills USA Has Strong Showing at 2016 State Competition
William Chrisman High School Drafting and Precision Machining students competed at Linn State Technical College on March 30th to April 2nd in the SkillsUSA State competition. Competitors had to place in the top 3 at the West Central Skills USA District competition to qualify for the state competition.
There were over 2,500 students competing in competitions ranging from culinary arts, nursing, construction, architectural drafting, machine drafting, diesel mechanics, and machining processes over the 4 day event.
Student competitors came from secondary, vocational and post-secondary schools making the competition very challenging. Gold medal winners will advance to the National Skills USA competition held in Louisville, KY.
