Get out of The Way: Hall Traffic Slows Down Passing Time
By: Morgan Eckstein and Lyndsy Strouse
There are many reasons why some kids get very frustrated with school. One of the reasons being how crowded the halls are. Some call it school traffic. People stopping suddenly, people yelling, pushing, goofing off, are all reasons for being so frustrated with the traffic.
Many might say that the worst part about school traffic is not staying on your side of the hallway. Usually when you walk down a hallway, you walk down the right side, right?
Well in William Chrisman, people seem to have a different view on that piece of information. They decide every day, every hour, that they can walk wherever they want, no matter who is in the way, which might make some people angry.
School traffic is especially hard for the people in wheelchairs that occupy the school. Maneuvering around people who can’t watch where they are going is always annoying, imagine being them.
If students really need to talk in the hallway, they can't move over to the side where they are out of everyone's way and not make people irritated, or as some people say they can “Walk and talk.”
Depending on the time of day, there are certain places when some areas are the most crowded. A lot of the times people stop by stairs or by the lunch room when they are supposed to be going to class to talk. This might cause some problems for people are are trying to make it to class on time and they don’t have any room to move.
When students stand and clutter up the hallway they don’t move for other students to get past.
There should be a better system that administrators should come up with to make getting around school easier.
Some people might ask “What’s the point in crowding the hallways?” because you are just causing a bigger problem than there needs to be.
Students should be respectful to their peers by not crowding the hallways so they can get to their classes on time.
