Counselor Gets Late Start, Makes Quick Impact

Sarah Dort might have gotten a late start on the school year, but she has quickly made an impact with Chrisman students.
The new Grizzly House counselor, who was hired after the year started, has reached kids from the day she has stepped on campus.
Zach Blanchard thinks that she is pretty cool. She helped him out with classes and schedule changes. Blanchard said that he wanted to give up school, but Ms. Dort told him no.
“There is too much to do, there is college to go to” she told him.
He believes that those words encouraged him to do better in school.
“Everyone should go to Ms. Dort. She has helpful advice,” he said.
Many other students agree with Blanchard.
For example, Issa Buck says that Dort is very nice and understanding to all the students needs.
Dort came into our school with a positive attitude. Everytime Rebecca Dudley does well in school, Ms. Dort sends her notes with a piece of candy attached to it saying “great job.”
Raven Artis thinks that Ms. Dort is nice and passionate. She works hard to keep the students on track, she even sends people notes on their birthdays. To raise Raven’s motivation, she said “even if you don’t need the class, why let the bad grade bring down your overall goal?”
Since then she’s always thought about her grades. Another fun fact about Ms. Dort is that she is always perky and loves candy.
“Wonderful lady who makes sure you’re okay and treats you equally” Artis said.
