The top girls’ basketball players from both sides of the Missouri-Kansas Stateline will play in mid-April and this year that means that two Lady Bears will be in action as well.
On April 15, 2017 Sideline Sports Talk will hostits 4th annual All-Star game. The showdown is for the top female basketball athletes of Missouri and Kansas to prove which state has the better team. Thirteen seniors from each state will compete in this game being played at Rockhurst University.
Not one, but TWO of William Chrisman's Lady Bears will compete in this very selective showcase. Bri Burns and Adreon Bell will both be representing Missouri and Chrisman as they sport their regular jersey numbers of 32 and 42, respectively.
The duo is excited to be chosen for the game and coach Scott Schaefer is proud of his players.
It is a reflection of not only the effort of themselves, but their teammates. It’s an honor and nice they are recognized for their hard work,” he said.
Burns and Bell were informed they are chosen at practice on Wednesday when athletic director. Greg Mcghee broke the great news to the girls just before practice
Burns, who will play at NCAA Division I Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas next season, hopes to play hard in the All Star game, have fun, and enjoy her last moments as a high school basketball athlete.
“I’m very excited and ready to enjoy every moment,” she said.
Bell, who scored her 1,000th career point last week, will attend Division II Nebraska-Kearney next season.
