French Students Prep For Exchange Trip
Story By: Caterina Andrenacci
It’s been almost 20 years since the exchange trip, through the French program, started at William Chrisman.
The students enrolled in French IV and French III have the chance to participate in the exchange and in some situations, seniors enrolled in French II have the opportunity to take the trip as well.
The program is coordinated by Madame Owens at Chrisman and Madame Pruente at Truman.
Those that agreed to host a French student for two weeks during the first semester, October 21 through November 4, will be going on the trip. In return those French students will host the Chrisman and Truman students that travel to France at the end of March.
Their flight to France will depart on March 17. Those students will be flying into Paris, where they will stay for one night, before their time with the host families and trips they will take to other parts of France.
In order to arrive prepared for any potential situations they have had meetings since early January.
During those meeting the teachers discussed all the documents needed for the trip and gave some advice for the transfer of U.S. dollars to Euros.
They also discussed what to do in difficult situations. The teachers went through some French words and phrases that are most likely to be used in the two weeks that they are there.
Students and teachers alike have put a lot of preparation into this trip. Both are looking forward to the experience and everything they will see in France.
