Chrisman Track Fares Well at Trailblazer Invitational
The William Chrisman Track and Field team crossed the state line on Friday to take on some of the best teams from Kansas and the results were again impressive as the Bears produced 21 PRs and 10 medalists. The top three medaled at the Trailblazer Invitational which took place at Gardner-Edgerton High School.
Leading the way was freshman Jacque David, who was a double event winner. She took first in both the discus and shot put, taking the shot put with a PR of 38’.25.”
Senior Daniel Carson was also strong in the throws as he won the shot put and was second in the discus. Junior Nick Puleo also scored team points with a new PR and fifth place in the discus.
Senior Jordon Woods also had a big day. He won the triple jump, took second in the long jump, and was a member of the boys 4x100m (Woods, Kelvyn Mason, Tony Hilton, Tre Sisco) that finished fifth with a season best time.
Junior Camryn Holloman again showed why she is one of the best track athletes in the metro. She took third in the triple jump and then took third as she ran one of the top 400m times on the Missouri side of the metro this spring. She also ran on the fourth-place girls 4x100m (Paris Anderson, Adreal Bell, Holloman, Meraid Jorgensen).
Hilton, a junior, had a double PR day as he took third in the long jump and sixth in the 300m hurdles.
Sophomore Reana Lagrone added a third place finish in the pole vault with a new PR to win the bronze.
The boys finished fifth as a team and the girls finished sixth. The Bears are back in action this Thursday with the Suburban White Conference meet hosted by Chrisman.
